Since the dawn of the personal computer age, Phoenix Technologies has been at the forefront of innovation - literally bringing the core elements of PCs together and making them work together. Thirty years ago, Phoenix’s core systems software helped launch the PC industry with its original BIOS (basic in-out system) product. Even today, a majority of Phoenix Technologies’ revenue comes from designing, developing, and supporting core system software such as SecureCore, SecureCore Tiano and Embedded BIOS® for computing devices.

It’s estimated that Phoenix products are incorporated into over 125 million computing device every year, making us the worldwide market share leader in the Core System Software sector. These firmware products support and enable the compatibility, connectivity, security, and manageability of the various components and technologies used in computing devices. We license these products primarily to OEMs (original equipment manufacturers) and ODM (original design manufacturers) to make their products attractive to demanding customers – businesses, governments, service providers, and consumers.

We think they should be fast, fun, easy, reliable, secure, and “green,” just like mobile phones. We are calling this vision: PC 3.0™. The PC industry has been promising it for years.
Phoenix is leading the way to finally make it a reality with its new products and services like HyperSpace, FailSafe, Freeze and eSupport.

HyperSpace™ is our operating system software that can run stand-alone on a PC or as a companion along-side another operating system such as Microsoft Windows. It can provide enhanced performance and functionality not available from the companion system.

HyperCore, another Phoenix product, incorporates virtualization technologies that create or support two, three or more virtual machines. This allows for multiple operating systems to run on the same computer.

Our operating system software provides users of PCs, particularly mobile computers, with enhanced device utility, reliability and security. They also enable the use of specific applications such as web browsers, messaging suites, office suites, and media suites that are designed for mobile devices. Phoenix also provides application developers with software development kits so they can efficiently build or customize applications to perform optimally within our operating systems’ environments.

FailSafe™ is software that helps prevent a computing device from being lost or stolen. It also lets the user protect data on the lost or stolen device. In addition to remotely retrieving or destroying data on that missing device, a FailSafe user can also remotely disable it.

Phoenix Freeze™ - automatically locks a computer when the user and their mobile Bluetooth-enabled phone leaves a pre-defined area. This quickly and easily prevents unauthorized access to the PC. When the user with phone moves back into the range of the computer, Freeze automatically unlocks it.

On eSupport.com, Phoenix offers a wide range of PC software products and services (DriverAgent™, UndeletePlus™ 3.0, RegistryWizard, and BIOSAgentPlus) that improve PC performance and stability.
