On-screen Branding and Pre-OS Graphical User Interface |
Phoenix TrustedCore is the first firmware offering to fully meet the compliance requirements for Intel Onscreen Branding at pre-OS startup screen. This is achieved through a pre-OS graphical user interface, which also supports boot order control menu. TrustedCore includes StrongROM, an embedded cryptographic engine, which allows authentication of the firmware itself. StrongROM can alternatively complement a TPM 1.2 chip in a system to further enhance device security. TrustedCore provides a secure root of trust that can authenticate operating systems, such as Microsoft Windows Vista. With the Phoenix TrustedCore Pre-Boot Authentication (PBA) option, TrustedCore can provides multi-factor authentication (biometric fingerprint, HDD password, ASCII password, smart tokens), to verify the identity of a user prior to any operating system being loaded. TrustedCore further enhances security by supporting Bitlocker secure CRTM (core root of trust measurement, also known as BIOS Boot Block) updates, through Phoenix Secure Winflash.
TrustedCore supports the Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI 2.0) standard, as well as legacy style drivers – and all from a single code base. This allows developers to leverage existing tools and libraries, further maximizing development investments and speeding time to market. Phoenix TrustedCore was the first BIOS firmware offering to include a pre-OS graphical user interface. It also met the Intel on-screen branding compliance requirements.
